“Your value doesn’t decrease based on someone’s inability to see your worth.” – Unknown
This past Saturday (5/16/15), as you may know, I spoke at a women’s ‘breakthrough’ event, and my topic was body-image.
It was a beautiful, powerful, intimate time and I’m so grateful for that opportunity, but it got me thinking…this isn’t an issue that only holds women, or even young women and children back. This is an epidemic for all humanity.
We all struggle with value and worth, and I don’t mean net-worth. This has nothing to do with money, or skills/talents, or learned behaviors, or good/bad habits, or physical conditions, or beauty… those are all things you can USE or EARN or AQUIRE to increase (or decrease) what you feel you ‘deserve’.
But this isn’t about what you deserve! In fact, I’ll be bold and say I hate the word. And in the context of self-worth and body-image, it’s only more damaging.
Why am I sharing all this with you?
Call it inspiration or call it a soap-box, but I believe every man, woman and child needs to know that their WORTH has nothing to do with anything they can “DESERVE”. Every single person was born with infinite value. You were GIVEN value. It was grace (undeserved favor). YOU are infinitely valuable! There’s nothing you can do to tarnish or earn that. It’s a fact. YOU are precious.
In fact, let’s say you could “earn” it. Then you could say you “deserve” it. Now you’re “entitled” and proud. Maybe a touch arrogant. Is that attractive? I am personally turned off by anyone who reeks of arrogance (and honestly, I’ve found it in myself a time or three and I hate every bit of it)! But turned ‘OFF’ by arrogance and pride means that the arrogant person in question is now LESS attractive, it’s downright UGLY if you ask me, and aren’t we talking about how to improve body-image? Maybe it’s just me, but isn’t there now MORE negative body image, even if it’s the observers perspective? And don’t we want to show the world a more beautiful soul?
Think about it.
And if positive body image and personal worth is about what you deserve, then you HAVE to earn it and who decides who is more valuable or less valuable? If human beings can be found on a scale of perceived or judged value, then shouldn’t horrific things like slavery and trafficking be deemed “ok”…because they’re just lesser human beings on the scale of deserved/earned worth, right? ABSOLUTELY NOT!!! I shudder typing such a thought. NO – we are ALL inately valuable. Placing value on a human being, ourselves included, places them on a scale of innate worth, and that, my friend, means that you, or I, are acting as God.
Here is where I’ll get off.
We may have misunderstood who God is, but that doesn’t mean His character changed because of our perceptions.
God is Love. And God made YOU in His image. You are an image-bearer of God. How could you ever doubt your value? And did you earn that? Not at all. You were born with it. You cannot deserve it. It won’t tarnish and it cannot ‘improve’ because how could you improve perfection?
Body image isn’t a matter of self-improvement, or even self-pity, but a perception and a focus issue. We need to remember or realize what our true value is. Remove the veil the world (media, social media, other people, men/women/relationships) has placed over your ability to see it.
No matter what you’ve done, no matter what you look like, no matter what limitations you may have or think you have…
YOU CANNOT DESERVE VALUE. YOU ALREADY HAVE DIVINE, INFINITE VALUE!!
I hope you can see that today, as you walk out this week, and beyond.
I know this isn’t a typical “motivational” blog, but I hope it touched your soul. Please feel free to share with anyone who needs to realize or remember it.
In health and God bless,

There are varied remedies. Of course, one of the beautiful place where you can get medicaments is online pharmacy. At present there are other drugs to treat tourette syndrome, depressive disorder or bronchospasm. Verapamil is a calcium channel blocker. This medicine works by relaxing the muscles of your blood vessels. Many drugs are used to treat impotence. What about cialis tadalafil buy online and sexual dysfunctions? Presently many patients search for the exact phrase ‘where can i buy cialis online‘ on the Internet. Like all other medicines, Cialis is classified according of it’s main ingredient. In these latter days for men of any age, it can be first sign for grave afflictions, so it’s essential for your overall health, not just your sex existence, to see a doctor if you experience hard-on disfunction. Low desire isn’t the same as erectile malfunction, but a lot of the same points that stifle an hard-on can also dampen your interest in sex. So if you are experiencing sexual problems, it is significant to see a certified sex therapist forthwith for a complete medicinal examination. Note that your sex therapist has prescribed Cialis or any other curing because he has judged that the favor to you is biger than the risk of potentially serious side effects. If you experience any other symptoms which you think may be due to this generic, discuss with your physician.
